PTO's Monster Dash Jog-a-Thon was a GREAT success!Posted by: SSES Registrar 5 years, 6 months ago
Our students recently participated in the Monster Dash Jog-a-Thon and it was a great success! Students received financial pledges from family members and friends for running laps, which they ran during PE classes. Volunteer military personnel from the USS Pearl Harbor, with whom our school has a Partnership in Education, led students in warm-up calisthenics, ran with the students, and encouraged them throughout the event. Our PTO board members and many parent volunteers also helped with music, logging student laps and supervising drinking stations as the students passed by.
Our PTO not only reached their financial goal but completely surpassed it by raising $14,852 for our school! A total of 76 students who raised $75 or more received a special “lunch with the principal”. The boy and girl from each grade level with the most laps were also awarded medals at the following Friday Flagpole Assembly.
We want to thank the PTO and all our wonderful volunteers for supporting our school!
