Halloween Comes to Silver Strand Science LabPosted by: SSES Registrar 5 years, 7 months ago
Take just one look around Silver Strand School and you’ll know that Halloween is on the way. Doors and rooms are decorated and Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Cavanaugh’s fifth graders are anxiously awaiting another Strand tradition…Mrs. Bradford’s Halloween lab.
The resident Mad Scientist herself, Mrs. Bradford, helps her students understand what a chemical reaction is and how to identify chemical changes by helping them make goblin snot and blood and guts, as well as drawing up the witch’s bubble bath and watching ghost milk swirl around a petri dish.
“One of the first questions I am asked by our fifth graders at the first science lab of each year is whether or not they will get to participate in the Halloween lab,” Bradford said, “it’s a rite of passage around here and they can’t wait for their turn.”
The students had a SPOOKTACULAR time. Happy Halloween!
