Our Annual PTO Luau has become a Coronado tradition!  It’s fun for the whole family and all are welcome!  This event takes place each year in May and features laser tag, a photo booth, rock climbing wall, bounce houses, face painting and carnival games.  You can count on delicious food and desserts too. Tickets will be available for the kids’ opportunity baskets, cotton candy, and popcorn. There is also a silent auction during the event thanks to generous and continued support from local businesses, company donations, and class baskets and artwork from our dedicated parents and teachers.
Each year students, staff, and families look forward to attending this amazing event which is the largest fundraiser of the year! All money raised goes right back to the students of Silver Strand School!

Fifth Grade Promotion Fifth Grade Promotion

5th grade graduation
Each year on the last day of school, Silver Strand holds a touching promotion ceremony honoring its fifth grade student body as it’s promoted from Silver Strand School to Coronado Middle School.  An auditorium filled with family members proudly watch as students march into the room to the strains of “Pomp and Circumstance”, read speeches, receive awards, and cross the stage to shake the principal’s hand as they receive their promotion certificate.  After the ceremony students and families gather to enjoy refreshments and take photos.  Students are released to parents immediately following the ceremony.

Annual Holiday Program Annual Holiday Program

annual holiday program
Students, families, and staff members look forward to the annual Holiday Program at Silver Strand School each year!  Under the direction of Gina Mirtallo, our wonderful VAPA teacher, Mark Margolies our Band director and Linda Kullmann our Choir director, students in all grade levels entertain families by singing a variety of winter and holiday songs.
A video link of the performance is posted each year for family members not able to attend in person (particularly those in the military on deployment or at other duty stations).
