PE Physical Education (PE)

PE incorporates education that focuses on the importance of health, fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Specific sports skills are taught that also incorporate teamwork and sportsmanship. Additionally, creative movement and some aspects of dance are incorporated into units of study for each grade level. Led by a credentialed PE teacher with the help of instructional assistants, PE takes place 30 minutes daily for all students at Silver Strand.

"Watch Me" Dance Presentation

At our of our weekly Friday Flagpole Assemblies Silver Strand students and staff (even Mr. Cass, our principal, and Dawn Ovrom, our CUSD board member) got their groove on and showed off the cool dance moves they learned during their PE classes.  Dance and Creative Movement are a sometimes relatively unknown part of the state’s PE standards and have been a focus of lessons in all of our PE classes using our new elementary SPARK PE curriculum.  We had a great parent turnout to see our students whip and nae nae at our “Watch Me” Dance Presentation!
